Parr Lumber opens Design Center
Aloha, Oregon is the site of Parr Lumber Company’s new design center, serving up ideas through kitchen vignettes, appliance options and cabinet styles, among other things.
Hillsboro, Oregon-based Parr Lumber Company will hold a Grand Opening Event for the new Parr Design Center Showroom Aug. 16.
The new 8,500-sq-ft showroom offers a stylish and comfortable environment where customers can compare and visualize the products they want to put in their homes.
“It has always been about the customers’ buyin experience,” said Nancy Cranston, Parr Lumber’s marketing manager. “Contractors and homeowners want a place where they can see the most innovative products, ask questions, get inspired, and not feel rushed or pressured.”
The heart of the showroom boasts eight fully assembled kitchen vignettes. Cabinet styles range from the competitively priced Kemper and Aristokraft to the ultra-custom Dynasty Series from Omega. The cabinets are complimented by granite, and Cambria Quartz countertops, stainless steel Frigidaire and Electrolux appliances.
The showroom and attached 20,000 sq.-ft. warehouse keeps more than 1,000 cabinets in stock.
The company says another key advantage of the showroom is having major product lines such as cabinets, countertops, appliances, sinks, hardware, and millwork right next to interior and exterior door displays and window displays.
“Seeing these products displayed together helps the customer pick complimentary products and accurately envision how they will all look together in the home,” said Angela Zagorsky, Parr Lumber’s window and door sales manager. “It is inspirational for customers. They can walk straight from the kitchen section to the window and door section where they can look at products from 10 different door manufacturers and 6 different window manufacturers. We are providing an enjoyable showroom experience that helps our customers feel confident in their design choices.”
Boral rolls out Craftsman Collection
Identifying a gap in the siding market, Roswell, Georgia-based Boral introduced the Boral TruExterior Siding Craftsman Collection.
Described as the first poly-ash siding product, the Craftsman Collection offers an array of full-thickness profiles with bold, defined shapes coupled with a low maintenance and simple installation message.
“We are very excited to offer the market a unique siding solution by continuing to expand our innovative poly-ash technology platform,” stated Russell Hill, Boral’s global chief technology officer. “We have applied a lot of science and design to produce a product that will meet our customer’s needs for performance, aesthetics and sustainability. US LBM grows in Brooklyn with Feldman Lumber
US LBM Holdings has expanded its footprint yet again via the acquisition of Brooklyn-based Samuel Feldman Lumber Co.
Owners Robert and Kenneth Feldman will remain on-board, with Kenneth stepping in as president of Feldman Lumber.
