Obituary: Todd Rabin, Ridgefield Hardware
Todd Rabin, 40, co-owner of Ridgefield Hardware, died on Feb. 5 after a long battle with cancer, according to an obituary in the Ridgefield Press.
Rabin owned the Ridgefield, Conn.. hardware store along with his father, Gerald Rabin. He is survived by his wife and three children.
In 2001, Todd Rabin was recognized as one of the “Young Retailers of the Year” by the North American Retail Hardware Association (NRLA).
Roof collapses at Minnesota hardware store
According to an article in the Echo Press, a Glenwood, Minn., hardware store suffered a collapsed roof last week. Heavy snow accumulation was blamed.
The damage to Wagner Hardware in downtown Glenwood was "quite extensive," according to a police department release.
No one was hurt by the roof collapse, according to the news report.
Another executive retires from Worldwide DIY Council
Don Droesch is leaving the Worldwide DIY Council. He is the second executive to announce his retirement from the group of U.S. and Canadian exporters in the past seven days.
Droesch, the executive secretary and managing director of the Council, said his resignation will take effect March 31. A former senior VP of Royal Rubber & Manufacturing Corp., Droesch spent four years with the Council. He will return to his consulting business, he said.
A week ago, Bob Vereen announced his retirement from the group, after 30-plus years. Vereen was a former senior VP of the North American Retail Hardware Association.
