New Product Showcase: Colorful new entrants
After a brutal winter, what the industry can use now is a splash of color — from raspberry red to lime to black and white. Even “green” qualifies, when used to conserve energy. On the following pages, the New Product Showcase opens on a colorful collection of handy or heavyweight home solutions for the 2011 selling season.
MidWest Gloves & Gear of Chillicothe, Mo., injected some extra color into its new line of products for women gardeners called “Gardening Colors.” Raspberry red, lime green and teal blue — in solids, stripes and combinations — create the distinctive look. “Women love the fashion-forward colors,” said president Stephen J. Franke. The line includes canvas gloves, sun visors and waist aprons. (midwestglove.com)
Grunt Can Carrier
Minneapolis-based Grunt Products introduced a handle for a 1-gallon can of paint. The Grunt CanCarrier eliminates the need to pour paint out of its original gallon can and into another container. In so doing, the company says, the product saves time and saves paint. The wire handle of the typical gallon paint can locks into place on the back of the big blue handle. A ladder-hook feature adds to the convenience. It carries a price point of about $13. (gruntproducts.com)

Master Flow Green Machine solar-powered ridge vent
While traditional ridge vents and roof louvers can often provide less airflow than powered roof vents, powered ventilation options are generally less attractive; require installation by electricians; and run using electricity, which adds to their cost. I think we definitely need that rubber paver. My husband needs to get some roofing done to our house ever since we had a bad storm about a month ago. Looks like it is the right tool that we need. Thanks for sharing!
Some very handy and useful
Some very handy and useful products for the home. I've also found that outdoor fire pits really enhance patio areas as well.

A Menards store planned near The Heartlands subdivision of Owensboro, Ky., would be the first Menards store to open in Kentucky.
Representatives from Eau Claire, Wis.-based Menards met with home owners this week, according to the Owensboro Messenger-Inquirer. Tom O’Neil, from Menards real estate division, told the newspaper: "As the overall plan evolves, we’ll be able to submit the development plan, and at that point we can show the site plan to the homeowners."
The store is expected to be an anchor retailer for a 67-acre development called Heartland Crossing.
