National Nail Corp. launches Stingerworld.com

Grand Rapids, Mich.-based National Nail Corp. launched Stingerworld.com, a website dedicated to their brand and product – Stinger Cap Systems.

“Bringing STINGER into the online market is a great opportunity for continued growth and expansion of the brand,” said Rocky Stroud, Stinger Product Manager at National Nail Corp.  

“It will be a great resource for our customers and work as a base for establishing new consumer interest.” 

The web site features detailed information regarding Stinger Cap Hammers, Cap Staplers, Cap Nailers and Cap Fasteners.  There is a video and photo gallery as well as a Dealer Locator to assist site visitors looking for a Stinger stocking dealer.

Stinger Cap Systems are manufactured and distributed by National Nail Corp. and are designed for securing roofing underlayment and housewrap.

Bona US hits the hardwood with the NBA

Aurora, Colo.-based Bona US, the hardwood floor care and maintenance company, will be an Official Hardwood Floor Care Partner of the National Basketball Association (NBA). 

Many NBA teams are already playing on floors finished with Bona including the New Orleans Hornets, San Antonio Spurs, Toronto Raptors and Denver Nuggets.

“We are happy with the Bona products on our new practice court and our game court at Air Canada Centre the home of the Toronto Raptors,” said Bob Hunter, executive VP of venues and entertainment, Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment. “We have to know that our floors can stand up to the wear and tear of our busy facility and still provide a great surface for our players and Bona was a good choice.”

Bona provides a complete system of sport products, including waterborne and oil modified finishes, machines, abrasives adhesives and a fast, effective maintenance system. 

“Bona products have been used in NBA and top collegiate gyms for years”, said John Rauvola, managing director, Bona US.  “We are very excited to now be formally recognized as an Official Hardwood Floor Care Partner of the NBA.”

The technology used in the products for NBA floors is also used in Bona’s residential finishes.

The players need a good surface to hve a great game.I know how important that is because I played basketball on college after I gave up playing hockey pool.

Home retailers lead the sales charge

The monthly sales tally from the U.S. Census Bureau showed gains in February – sales were up 1.1% from the previous month, and up 6.5% from the same month last year.

Leading the sales charge are businesses classified as building material & garden equipment and supplies dealers – NAICS code 444, inclusive of home centers and hardware stores. No other kind of business tracked by the bureau has grown faster in the first two months of 2012. 

On an unadjusted basis, NAICS showed a 15.5% increase in the first two months, compared to the same period a year ago.

In 2012, NAICS 444 adjusted sales were estimated at $27.036 billion for February, up 1.4% from the previous month, and up 13.8% from the same period last year. (Sales are adjusted for seasonal variation and holiday and trading-day differences, but not for price changes.)
