Multanen named Idaho Small Business Person of the Year
The Multanen family, owners of Caldwell, Idaho-based Best Bath Systems, have taken home the award for 2014 Idaho Small Business Person of the Year.
"We’re honored to have been named Idaho’s Small Business Person of the Year, and we’re proud that it reflects how Best Bath’s innovations are making a difference in the lives of our customers, our employees and our community," said CEO Gary Multanen.
Best Bath Systems has been around since 1971, manufacturing accessible showers and bathtubs for seniors and disabled homeowners since its shift in 1995. Since then, it has grown to a pace of $20 million in sales with 490 dealers in North America.
The award is granted by the U.S. Small Business Administration as part of National Small Business Week, which recognizes business owners across the country in industries far and wide.
The Multanens were initially nominated by Larry Ilk, VP and commercial relationship manager of Zions Bank in Boise, Idaho.
"Since I started working with Best Bath Systems, they have impressed me with their business acumen, their dedication to innovation and quality, and their commitment to the community," said Ilk. "I’m pleased they have been recognized with this honor, and Zions Bank is proud to help support their continued growth."
Toro renews commitment to Pinehurst
Further cementing what is now a long-standing tradition with roots dating back to 1922, The Toro Company has renewed its commitment to Pinehurst Resort of Pinehurst, North Carolina, for an additional 10 years.
The decade-long agreement prolongs Toro’s role as the preferred supplier of golf course maintenance equipment and irrigation solutions to Pinehurst.
“We are delighted that Pinehurst has chosen to renew its partnership with Toro for another 10 years,” says Bill Brown, Toro group VP. “As one of our longest running partner relationships, The Toro Company is honored to be associated with Pinehurst and we look forward to continuing our relationship by providing the finest turf maintenance equipment and irrigation products that our customers have come to expect.”
Pinehurst has been a golf destination since 1895, most recently hosting the 2014 U.S. Open and U.S. Women’s Open Championships.
“We selected Toro because of their quality products, our long relationship, and their exemplary service and support.” said Pinehurst Resort EVP Tom Pashley. “Not only as we prepared for the U.S. Open and U.S. Women’s Open, but also as we continue to provide our guests with the unmatched playing experience they’ve come to expect at Pinehurst.”
Coleman equipment for kids, a gift from Coleman
Youth groups across the nation are getting an additional reason to head outside this summer. The Coleman Company is donating $110,000 worth of camping equipment to Scouts, Boys & Girls Club Chapters and various first-time camper programs at state parks throughout the country.
“We want to showcase the ease, excitement and affordability of camping through first-hand experiences," said Coleman president Dave Allen. "Getting people outdoors means fun and healthy living resulting in less time spent on smart phones or in front of video consoles, computer and television screens.”
Coleman is making the donation as part of its role as the founding sponsor of Great Outdoors Month, an effort to get kids and their families outside.
As part of its sponsorship, Coleman is also underwriting four Capital Camp-Outs hosted by the governors of Kansas, Colarado, Georgia and Washington, as well as one camp-out in Arkansas at Pea Ridge NMP.
Additionally, Coleman will be promoting its "get outside" message via its Ranger Days Tour, in which former outdoor professionals will camp out at Walmart stores in 20 U.S. markets, sharing tips and advice with interested parties.
“Coleman Rangers engage shoppers in conversation about the abundant outdoor resources available nearby and across the United States while also demonstrating equipment and offering personal insights," said Allen. “We want to make camping attainable. The Ranger Days Tour helps people see how easy and affordable it is to go camping and then Coleman provides everything to help them get there.”
