Lumber Liquidators releases new catalog

The latest catalog from Lumber Liquidators is here, featuring over 70 new flooring options and offering a window into the latest industry trends.

"As Lumber Liquidators has grown, we’ve developed a keen eye for trends that create our flooring mix," said president and CEO Robert M. Lynch. "We constantly receive feedback from consumers at our more than 300 retail locations and balance that with staying on top of design inspirations from around the world."

Among the popular trends that are front and center in the catalog are hand-scraped, French bleed edges, wide planks and click technology.

The catalog showcases new products, as well as sidebars and links to videos that serve to educate consumers about flooring options.

California USG plant goes solar

USG Corporation is installing a solar facility at its Plaster City, Calif., manufacturing plant via a Solar Energy Power Purchase and Sale Agreement (PPA) with Green Light Plaster City Solar 1 LLC.

The one megawatt photovoltaic system is expected to provide USG with predictable cost for its electricity usage for the next 20 years.

“We are always looking for opportunities for our plants to use solar energy, and it made a lot of sense to move forward with this renewable energy investment at our manufacturing plant in Plaster City,” said Al Zucco, senior director, Energy and Sustainability, USG. “This is an exciting project that demonstrates USG’s environmental stewardship and commitment to maintain environmentally-friendly operations.”

Beginning in September and ending in December, GLPCS1 will team up with local engineering firm ZGlobal, Inc. to install solar cells on eight acres of the site. 

According to the company, the installation is expected to bring in savings of over $1 million over 20 years.

Trex’s website undergoes a redesign

Trex Company has rolled out a newly redesigned website with enhanced content, navigation and user experience, as well as an upgraded mobile format.

The site also uses responsive design, with automatically optimizes the site for the visitor’s screen.

"Trex.com is a key resource and information hub not only for consumers, but also for our channel partners, investors and internal resources," said Adam Zambanini, VP marketing at Trex. "As these audiences increasingly access the web via tablets and mobile devices, our goal is to help them get to the information they want as quickly and easily as possible."

Other featuers include photo and video galleries, an online deck designer tool, a new blog, social media features and geolocation services that tell visitors where the nearest retailers and deck builders are located.
