LG appliances get the black stainless steel treatment
LG has come up with a new series of kitchen appliances featuring a Black Stainless Steel finish.
Featuring the new look are a collection of new refrigerators, ranges, dishwashers and microwaves, all with a fingerprint and smudge-resistant veneer.
In celebration of this, HGTV stars David Bromstad and Emily Henderson are co-hosting "Limitless Design," a first-of-its-kind showcase of kitchen design possibilities using inspiration from Pinterest boards brought into the real world.
"I believe that every room in the house should have some element of black to help ground all of the other design choices, while also making a statement," said Emily Henderson, stylist, designer and season five winner of HGTV's "Design Star." "With its beautiful and versatile finish, LG's Black Stainless Steel Series is a smart investment and the perfect touch of warmth and luster for those looking to update their kitchen – whether their style is classic with clean lines or modern with bold accents."
Guests at Limitless Design will get to experience a range of dramatic kitchen design possibilities inspired by Black Stainless Steel-centric Pinterest boards created by Bromstad and Henderson.
A panel discussion on the emergence of black stainless steel will also take place.
Phifer acquires Wire Company
Tuscaloosa, Alabama-based Phifer signed a deal to acquire the U.S.A. assets of Wire Company Holdings, a Hanover, Pennsylvania, supplier of woven mesh to consumer, automotive and industrial filtration markets.
The APA transaction is structured as a cash purchase at an undisclosed value and subject to customary closing conditions. Closing is expected by Dec. 18, 2015.
Wire Company operations will constitute a stand-alone business unit as a wholly owned subsidiary of Phifer and will do business under another trade name after the transaction is closed.
Phifer did not acquire the rights to the New York Wire trade name, trademarks or domain name. Those assets were acquired by Saint-Gobain Adfors America several years ago.
The acquisition combines the complementary strengths of two leading companies in the woven filtration mesh industries.
"We are excited about the addition of Wire Company, a strong organization with dedicated employees positioned in similar markets as Phifer," said Phifer president Brad Cork. "Phifer is fully committed to support and accelerate our growth and innovation on an international scale both organically and through acquisitions. We believe Wire Company is a perfect fit to meet our objectives.”
The plan calls for Wire Company's management team and market strategies to remain in place. Wire Company is led by Guy Fritz, president and CEO.
