Koelnmesse names chief operating officer
International trade show organizer Koelnmesse named Katharina Hamma as its new chief operating officer.
She will be responsible for the operations of the trade fair program in Cologne, Germany, as well as for company’s sales, communications and services.
"I’m looking forward to being in Cologne and working on one of the wold’s most exciting trade fair locations," said Hamma, who is the third member of Koelnmesse’s top management team. The other two are CEO Gerald Bose and CFO Herbert Marner.
OC insulation gets USDA green designation
Owens Corning has announced that it EcoTouch insulation has been certified as a biobased product by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. It is the first fiberglass insulation to receive this designation, according to the company.
The certification is part of the USDA’s new Biobased labeling program to identify products with ingredients made from renewable plant materials. The new initiative aims to increase the sale and use of these products by all buyers. A presidential order mandates the purchasing of biobased products under a preferential procurement program by federal agencies and their subcontractors.
Newell Rubbermaid honored for innovation
Newell Rubbermaid was recognized by Consumer Goods Technology magazine as the "2011 Most Innovative Company."
Newell Rubbermaid was selected for the award by industry peers based on multiple innovative new product launches in 2010 and 2011. Among them, the Rubbermaid Commercial Products Hygen Clean Water System, Calphalon, the Lenox Bi-Metal Speed Slot Hole Saw.
Each year the award honors the consumer goods company that best demonstrates excellence in driving growth through product and process innovation.
