Knipex moves its headquarters
Knipex Tools LP has moved its headquarters and office to a new location.
The previous facility was located in Arlington Heights, Illinois. Now, the combined office and warehouse is situated in Buffalo Grove, Illinois.
Knipex began operating out of its newly renovated facility in early May. The 53,200-square-foot combined office and warehouse is located at 1500 Busch Parkway and includes a 10,200-square-foot office space.
Knipex also moved its warehouse operations from New Jersey to a larger 43,000-square-foot warehouse space at its Buffalo Grove headquarters. The new warehouse features an SAP warehouse management system for greater efficiency and improved lead times on shipments.
The company has also hired full-time warehouse personnel and employed Steve Deering as warehouse manager in order to create a lean, well-operating distribution center in the United States. He was previously working for HD Supply as an operations supply manager and has more than 30 years of experience in warehouse and facility management.
“With the new headquarters, Knipex is excited to have a new, single location that is not only bigger, but more efficient than before,” said Todd Shumate, president, Knipex Tools. “Our combined office and warehouse locations will streamline our operations and provide the ultimate service to our valued customers.”
Product Central: Fire Shield
Once a year, the industry packs its bags and heads to Las Vegas for the annual hardware event that tops all the rest in its scope, diversity, and sheer magnitude.
The National Hardware Show attracts a dense and diverse crowd from all over the country, which is only surpassed by the assortment of products littered across a show floor vast enough to move the needle on one’s Fitbit. It’s certainly not possible to see everything the National Hardware Show has to offer, but that’s why the show organizers are offering tailored recommendations to attendees. For an added level of optimization, here are a few highlights from HBSDealer that might be worthy of your attention.
Here is a product featured in a recent issue of HBSDealer:
Featuring patented Heat Sensor Technology, Fire Shield products constantly monitor the heat created at the wall receptacle (and the devices plugged into it). If a high level of heat is detected, Fire Shield triggers an alert by sounding an 80dB alarm and emitting a flashing red LED, giving advance warning of potential dangers.
