Kitchen and Bath group names new VP
The National Kitchen & Bath Association has appointed Suzie Williford Vice President, Industry Relations.
In this new role, Williford will be responsible for NKBA Marketplace activities, the KBIS trade show, Association sponsorships and Chapters and Governance.
“Suzie has a thorough and deep understanding of NKBA, having served on our Board of Directors for more than a decade, including her time as NKBA President in 2009,” said NKBA CEO Bill Darcy. “Throughout the years Suzie has advanced NKBA, working to strengthen existing relations and develop new partnerships, playing an instrumental role in the Design & Construction Week’s co-location of the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) and the NAHB International Builders' Show.”
Prior to joining NKBA, Williford VP president of sales for two major kitchen and bath companies, Kiva Kitchen & Bath and Westheimer Plumbing & Hardware.
For HIRI event, early-bird rates
Attendees who register for the two-day Home Improvement Research Institute Insights Conference in Chicago prior to Aug. 12 will save $100.
The Sept. 27-28 conference will present research-based industry insights, upcoming home improvement trends and insights into the minds of the customers
Presenters will include Ivy Zelman of Zelman Associates; Nancy Fire of HGTV Home; Sarah Catlett of The Futures Company and Christina Cooley of J.D. Power.
Attendees who move early can also arrange a special discounted rate of $229 at the Holiday Inn Chicago-Mart Plaza River North, the event’s host hotel.
The Home Improvement Research Institute (HIRI) is a membership based, independent, not-for-profit organization of manufacturers, retailers, wholesalers and allied organizations in the home improvement industry. Its mission is to be recognized as the primary authority for effective, useful information about home improvement products and services in North America.
A new name says it all: East Coast Builders Conference
The Atlanta-based East Coast Builders Conference — formerly known as the Builder Remodeler Expo — is looking ahead to May 4-5, 2017.
The conference and expo will be held at the Cobb Galleria Centre in Atlanta.
"There's a strong level of support by manufacturers for a residential building and construction industry tradeshow and conference to be held consistently on the East Coast," said Verne Packer, executive producer of the event. "2016 exhititors and attendees have given us great feedback to improve the overall experience and those suggestions are helping us improve our event for 2017."
The month of May timeframe was selected to give builders more time to begin spring construction amd more time between the International Builders' Show and the ECBC, show organizers said.
Strategic partners HBAG, ASID and NARI will all hold their spring member meetings and events at ECBC. Also, a "Meet the Builder" component will bring together key East Coast buyers with top manufacturer's executives.
The ECBC is sponsored by the Home Builders Association of Georgia and its 28 state chapters it targets 16 states from Mississippi to Indiana, east to Pennsylvania and south to Florida.
