Jones Stephens adds WordLock to mix
WordLock Loop and Lock with MatchKey is now available from Jones Stephens, the distributor of plumbing specialty products.
The security product secures tools, ladders and other valuables with a heavy-duty flexible steel cable. The utility lock uses a word and MatchKey to grant access — the word spelled out on the key must match the word on the lock, boosting security.
Both Jones Stephens and WordLock are World and Main companies.
Do it Best crosses $3 billion mark
Do it Best Corp. surpassed $3 billion in total sales for its recently ended fiscal year, the co-op announced.
Sales for the co-op’s 2016 fiscal year, which ended June 25, totaled $3.02 billion, up 1% from $2.99 billion for FY2015.
“While we are certainly excited to reach this sales milestone, what continues to be our top priority is providing the right products, programs and services to help our members grow and achieve their dreams,” said Do it Best Corp. President & CEO Dan Starr. “Hitting this milestone reinforces that our committed team is executing well to serve our member-owners’ needs all around the world. This also means we’ll be distributing member rebates in excess of $100 million for the 13th consecutive year.”
Exceeding $3 billion in annual sales also moved the co-op to the top of a recently published list of leading Indiana businesses. The Indianapolis Business Journal recognized Do it Best Corp. as the largest privately held company in Indiana based on revenue and the only one in the state to surpass $3 billion.
“We are proud of what we accomplished on behalf of our members throughout our fiscal year,” Starr said, “and we are eager to make the coming year an even more successful one.”
The Fort Wayne, Indiana-based co-op seerves more than 3,800 member-owned locations.
Executive moves bolster Weyerhaeuser
Federal Way, Washington-based Weyerhaeuser Distribution promoted Brad Brubaker, and hired Jonathan Cohen and Jason Thomas.
Brubaker has been elevated to Area General Manager for the Carolinas area Distribution Center. A 16-year Weyerhaeuser employee, Brubaker most recently served as a Division Inventory Manager for the company's distribution business. With more than 30 years experience in the distribution industry, Brubaker has previous experience with MacMillan Bloedel and wholesale/retail cedar sales in Canada.
Jonathan Cohen has joined Weyerhaeuser as an Area General Manager for the Colorado area, after a long history with BMC, ProBuild and Builders First Source (BFS). He most recently served as Director of Financial Integration and helped lead the merging of BFS and ProBuild. With nearly 20 years of industry experience, Cohen brings a broad range of talents and business insights to Weyerhaeuser.
Jason Thomas has joined Weyerhaeuser as a Sales Manager for the Distribution Center in Easton, Pa. Thomas has "construction in the blood" that comes from his father being in the building industry and his own 12-year experience with Lowe's. He started as a seasonal associate at Lowe's and worked his way up to store management before handling corporate accounts.
