Irwin Tools adds new Vise-Grip Pliers
Irwin Tools has introduced a series of new cutting pliers to its Vise-Grip collection, aimed at providing extra comfort, durability and cutting power.
“After inventing the first-ever locking pliers more than 90 years ago, Irwin Tools continues to push the evolution of pliers technology, enabling tradesmen to do more with greater ease,” said Marta Aebischer, director of brand marketing. “Innovations like PowerSlot Technology and 3-Zone Comfort Grips deliver dramatic performance advantages so that users can get the job done faster and easier.”
The new additions include Max Leverage Diagonal Cutting Pliers and End Cutting Pliers, both of which feature PowerSlot Technology for increased power and ease of use.
Additionally, the new ErgoMulti Long Nose Pliers feature built-in wire strippers and an angled 62-degree head for reduced wrist strain.
Other new offerings include Lineman’s Pliers, Long Nose Pliers, Bent Nose Pliers and a patented Performance Lanyard system.
All of the new Vise-Grip cutting pliers boast induction-hardened cutting edges fit for cutting ACSR, nails, screws and piano wire. A special coating helps protect against rust, and 3-Zone Comfort Grips add ergonomic appeal.

Trex gets into the outdoor lighting game on Amazon
Trex Company is making its debut in the world of e-commerce, but not in the way one would necessarily expect of the decking and railing manufacturer.
Trex is launching its high-performance Outdoor Lighting collection on Amazon.com, bypassing its own website to join other Trex-branded products that have populated Amazon’s site via Trex licensees (such as Trex Outdoor Furniture, Trex RainEscape and Trex Pergola). However, this will be the first product line sold directly by Trex online.
“Like the other Trex products offered on Amazon, outdoor lighting is a category where the customer base is much broader than the decking contractors and consumers who shop for Trex products at lumber yards and retail centers,” said Ronald Kaplan, chairman, president and CEO of Trex. “The incredible reach and marketing horsepower of Amazon will enable us to maximize the potential of this product category, while bringing amplified consumer awareness and credibility to the Trex brand that ultimately will benefit all of our channel partners.”
The complete Trex Outdoor Lighting collection is now available on Amazon, including the Deck Lighting collection and new Landscape Lighting line.
Trex’s value proposition? Lighting that uses 75% less energy than traditional incandescent bulbs, as well as durable, weather-proof and salt-air-resistant construction. The lights are also cool to the touch.
“Trex’s focus always has been on creating what’s next, and as consumers shift their purchasing behavior online, Trex will continue its brand prominence by leveraging what the new frontier of e-commerce has to offer,” Kaplan said. “Through Amazon, Trex will continue to strengthen its channels of distribution – already the strongest in the industry – to make it even easier for customers to fall in love with Trex Outdoor Lighting and incorporate it into their outdoor living spaces.”
