IBP acquires Florida insulation business
Installed Building Products, the Columbus, Ohio-based installer of insulation and other building products, acquired C.Q. Insulation based in Tampa, Florida.
With $6.9 million in sales last year, CQ Insulation is an installer of fiberglass and cellulose insulation, with a 12-year operating history serving the Florida market through its two branch locations in Tampa and Orlando. CQ Insulation primarily focuses on new multi-family residential and commercial end markets.
“We are excited to announce the addition of CQ Insulation to our Company as we continue to expand our national footprint,” stated Jeff Edwards, chairman and CEO of IBP. “The addition of these two established branch locations deepens our presence in the Southeast and provides us with an attractive platform to pursue additional multi-family projects in our markets. As we move forward in 2015, we continue to see excellent acquisition opportunities in our target markets and we are well situated to further execute on our growth strategy.”
Simpson expands availability of WaterBarrier technology
Simpson Door Company's WaterBarrier technology is now available in virtually any of its existing door designs.
The water-resistant barrier can now be applied to more than 100 door and sidelight designs in its Mastermark Collection, Craftsman Collection, Builders Advantage Series and other various contemporary or traditional products.
"WaterBarrier technology has been a popular upgrade for our most requested French and sash doors over the past seven years," said Brad Loveless, Simpson marketing and product development manager. "Given customer demand, we now offer WaterBarrier technology on virtually any exterior door. So if you have an opening—whether it is the front, side or back of the house—that will be exposed to the elements, you can still have a long-lasting, warrantied, beautiful wood door, no matter the design or size."
WaterBarrier features a moisture-resistant, medium-density overlay (MDO) combined with a thermoset acrylic latex primer topcoat and PVC glazing beads.
