Home channel brands gear up for Father’s Day
If we didn’t know better, we’d say Father’s Day and the home improvement industry were practically made for each other. No other industry — aside from maybe the neck-tie market — has as much to offer during mid-June.
As it so happens, a few home channel brands are already warming up for the holiday with Father’s Day products and marketing campaigns.
For example, Lowe’s teamed up with well-known DIY personalities to come up with inspired "blueprints" for projects to do with Dad this Father’s Day. Jay Riordan of American Dream Builders, Bruno Bornsztein of ManMade, Timothy Dahl of Charles and Hudson, and Marty Csercsevits and Pete Fazio of DadAnd (among others) helped craft blueprints for creating a vegetable garden or building a DIY arbor, hosting an outdoor Father’s Day party and more.
Meanwhile, Craftsman is giving away a "MAKEcation" weekend, as well as coming up with its own "Dad" anthem and bacon wrapping paper.
The MAKEcation (self-described as "a fantasy camp for tool enthusiasts) is hosted by actor and comedian Rob Riggle, as well as a team of expert instructors. Through July 12, Craftsman Club and Shop Your Way members can enter for a chance to win a spot on the four-day trip, which takes place at Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa in California over Labor Day weekend. A spot on the trip can also be purchased for $5,000.
AZEK adds new color to Arbor Collection
AZEK Building Products’ Arbor Collection now offers an additional color.
The AZEK Deck collection now comes in a light shade called Hazelwood, which features subtle detail and a natural polish that responds to current trends in hardscapes and helps camouflage dirt.
"Hazelwood is the perfect addition to give breadth to our Arbor Collection to ensure we have versatile color options that can complement virtually any outdoor space or home," said Michael Gori, VP product management, CPG Building Products. "While AZEK Deck offers more colors than any other decking line, Hazelwood was formulated to answer the many requests we’ve received for light colored variegated decking."
Other colors in the Arbor Collection include Acacia, Morado, Silver Oak and Redland Rose.
Insulation offering expands at Johns Manville
Johns Manville added CI Max White insulation to its insulation offering.
Johns Manville CI Max White is described as a high-efficiency polyiso foam sheathing designed specifically for exposed interior applications. It’s approved for use without a thermal barrier and provides an attractive and durable interior finish. It is also suitable for wall or ceiling applications in commercial, residential, agricultural and industrial buildings.
“Code-compliant, cost-effective and thermally efficient wall assemblies aren’t something that can be achieved with just one product,” said Fred Stephan, senior VP Insulation Systems for Johns Manville “It takes a comprehensive, planned and well-executed insulation system, including both cavity and continuous insulation, which is why we continue to invest in expanding our portfolio. JM offers a complete line of high-performance commercial and residential insulation products all designed to work well in combination with one another so our customers can find the solution they need.”
CI Max White provides a continuous layer of insulation to reduce thermal bridging. Additionally, it has an acrylic-embossed facer that is aesthetically appealing, hard-wearing and easy to clean.
JM also announced that its entire line of foam sheathing products has received International Code Council Evaluation Service (ICC-ES) approval.
“As one of only two U.S. manufacturers to achieve this accreditation for Types I-V commercial construction, we are proud that we can continue to offer our customers even greater peace of mind that they are using the highest-rated materials on the market,” said Stephan.
Johns Manville is a Berkshire Hathaway company.
