HBSDealer hires LBM Editor
New York – HBSDealer, the building products and home improvement retailing magazine of Lebhar-Friedman Inc., announced the hiring of Andrew Carlo as LBM Editor. In his new position, Carlo will lead HBSDealer’s coverage of lumberyards, building products and LBM distributors.
Carlo brings almost 20 years of journalism and communications experience to the position, including editorial positions at Hanley Wood and the Northeastern Retail Lumber Association. He also covered the building supply industry as an editor for Home Channel News, the forerunner of HBSDealer.
He will report to Ken Clark, editor in chief of HBSDealer.

Carlo’s duties at HBSDealer will include covering product trends and financial news, tracking the impact of consolidation and competition, and spotlighting high-performing building supply dealers.

Top-level promotions at Hitachi
Hitachi Power Tools has promoted Joe Leffler to the position of senior vice president of sales, marketing and general management and has promoted Kristopher Miles to vice president of operations. Both top-level management moves were effective Oct. 1, the Braselton, Ga.-based power tool manufacturer said in a press release.
Leffler previously served as vice president of sales and marketing and joined the company in 1994. In his new position Leffler will also oversee Hitachi’s Canadian division and sit on the board of directors of Hitachi Koki USA.
Miles joined the company in 2016 and previously served as director of logistics and purchasing.
Hitachi Power Tools supports more than 4,000 retail locations carrying Hitachi tools and over 1,000 authorized service centers, according to the company. Hitachi Koki USA, Ltd. is the North American division of Hitachi Koki Japan.
