Gojo launches ‘Tough Job – Sweet Deal’ sweepstakes
Cleaning products manufacturer Gojo Industries is sponsoring a promotion that includes prizes and a free trip, the company said.
Gojo announced the "Gojo Tough Job. Sweet Deal. Giveaway" contest and sweepstakes, which started Wednesday. The contest is designed to appeal to people working in jobs that require them to regularly use industrial and automotive hand degreaser and other hand cleaning and conditioning products.
"One of the great things about our customers is they don’t mind getting their hands dirty in accomplishing big things in their tough jobs," said Gojo Tough Soils market manager Jim Brown. "They rely on Gojo industrial and automotive hand degreaser and conditioning products. Our Tough Job – Sweet Deal Giveaway is a way for us to acknowledge our customers’ strong work ethic and reward some of them for sharing their experiences with us via photos and videos."
Entrants are eligible to win a trip for two to the 2014 Daytona 500, 2013 World Series Game 3 or 2014 BCS Championship game. Entrants must submit either a photograph or video through the entry form online or a photo through Instagram at #GOJOToughSoils.
TOTO, Crossville partner for new porcelain tile
TOTO has announced a new partnership with Crossville, a U.S.-owned and operated manufacturer of porcelain, glass and stone tile collections. Beginning in June 2013, Crossville will offer Hydrotect as an optional finish on a majority of its porcelain tile collections.
"TOTO established ‘HYDROTECT Partners’ to raise Hydrotect’s profile in the global marketplace and disseminate knowledge about this breakthrough technology worldwide," said Daijiro Nogata, president of TOTO USA.
"TOTO continues to aggressively build our global network of cross-industrial strategic business partners. We are proud to announce that Crossville is the newest member of our international network. This announcement is a special pleasure for TOTO as we partner with Crossville on one of our key environmental initiatives — upcycling our imperfect and damaged china for new tile production. Hydrotect will be available as an option on Crossville’s recycled tile line, as well as its other collections."
Crossville applies Hydrotect to its porcelain tile during a second firing process, after the tile is traditionally glazed and fired. Hydrotect will not wash or wear off over time and is not visible.
TOTO’s Hydrotect technology uses photocatalysts with superhydrophilic and decomposition properties offering the following benefits:
- Creates easy clean surfaces on buildings’ exteriors or interiors;
- Cleans the air (reduces pollutant gases, NOx, SOx, VOCs, which contribute to greenhouse gas production and improves general air quality, both indoor and outdoor); and
- Offers an anti-microbial effect.
AHMA members weigh in on Obamacare and immigration
A survey of members of the American Hardware Manufacturers Association (AHMA) reveals a significant amount of confusion over requirements related to the Affordable Care Act.
AHMA members were asked: ““The Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) has certain provisions scheduled to go into effect in 2014 affecting businesses with over 50 employees. Is your company fully prepared to meet the new requirements?”
More than half (56%) of the respondents answered “not sure.” Twenty-five percent answered “yes,” and 19% answered “no.”
A second question dealt with immigration policy.
AHMA members were asked: “As a manufacturer, how important is it to your business that immigration policy in Washington allows for access to the best workers at all skill levels?”
Fifty-six percent responded “very important,” 19% responded “somewhat important,” and 25% responded “not important.”
