A former Orco exec joins BMC as VP sales
Boise, Idaho-based BMC appointed Keith Costello, a 26-year veteran of the construction business and former Orco Construction Supply executive, as its VP sales.
Previously, Costello was the VP sales and marketing at Traffic Control and Safety Corp., the largest provider of traffic control products and services in the western United States. At Traffic Control and Safety Corp., Costello directed sales, marketing and procurement of the $70 million, 16-branch company. Prior to that, Costello was VP sales at Orco Construction Supply, a leading distributor of supply products serving professional contractors. At Orco, he managed sales and business development for 23 branches and 180 sales associates in three states.
Costello and BMC CEO Peter Alexander both have executive experience at Orco, where Alexander was president and CEO before joining BMC.
“Keith is a dynamic leader whose record is highlighted with building highly motivated sales teams, unifying cross regional efforts and creating a best in class sales force,” said Alexander. “His mission will be to optimize margins while growing our share in each market, and we are fully confident that we have selected the right person for the job."
Prior to his role at Orco, Costello was a sales manager at Sika Corp., a $2 billion international manufacturer of infrastructure restoration construction products and services.
“My goal is to support to the great work already done in the field and build on current and future customer relationships,” said Costello. “BMC is established and is growing its foothold in the market, and I believe we have a unique opportunity to increase customer value, retention and loyalty through the strong work of our field teams.”
WOLF ramps up production of PVC decking
York, Pa.-based WOLF ramped up production of its WOLF PVC Decking – less than six months after the January 2011 introduction of the line, the company announced Tuesday.
WOLF President Craig Danielson said independent dealers who have evaluated the product have increased demand for the decking "dramatically," he said.
In addition to expanding production of WOLF PVC Decking, the company has added three new colors of PVC Porch – complementary products to WOLF PVC decking that include quarter-round, fascia and bull-nose trim.
WOLF develops products and programs for 3,000 pro dealer customers across 18 East Coast states.
Fairfax Lumber recognized for green approach
The Fairfax Green program of sustainability, providing green building products and information to customers, helps keep Fairfax Lumber in the public eye in California.
The Fairfax, Calif. lumberyard, home and garden center was recently profiled as the business of the week by the San Anselmo-Fairfax Patch, an online newspaper. Augie Venezia, the 2008 Home Channel News Independent Pro Dealer of the Year, told the newspaper: "“My goal is to give customers information to let them make better decisions and to understand that green options don’t necessarily cost more."
Fairfax Lumber operates in Marin County and was founded in 1912.
