Flooring distributor expands in Twin Cities
Metropolitan Hardwood Floors leased a 16,063-sq.-ft. distribution facility in the Minneapolis suburb of Eagan.
Metropolitan Hardwood Floors is the exclusive distributor of Kentwood and Evoke flooring lines and also handles many other manufacturers.
It was the 15th deal that Bruininks has done with Metropolitan Hardwood Floors, totaling approximately 340,000 sq. ft.
The hardwood flooring distributor is growing quickly in Minnesota and needed to establish a physical presence near Minneapolis and St. Paul, according to the company’s real estate agent, Brian Bruinkinks of The Andover Co./Corfac International. Eight deals have been done in the Seattle area where the flooring distributor’s U.S. operations are based, while other transactions have been completed in Omaha, Nebraska; Denver, Colo.; and a recent lease in Austin, Texas.
In Eagan, Metropolitan Hardwood leased space in Flagship Business Campus II at 915 Blue Gentian Road, Suite 600. The 24-ft. clear-height distribution facility features freeway visibility and offers 1,850 sq. ft. of office area with the remainder warehouse.

GelPro Elite steps up to ease feet of at-home chefs
Austin, Texas-based GelPro is rolling out the red carpet beneath the feet of home chefs — or at least a mat that’s comfortable to stand on.
“We’re excited about all the technology we’ve incorporated into this product, but it’s always about delivering the best experience for our users," said GelPro founder and CEO Robb McMahan. "Conversations around cooking and the kitchen so often revolve around ways to make meals healthier and quicker and how to entertain for guests, but there’s a gap in conversation about taking care of those same at-home chefs and keeping them comfortable."
The GelPro Elite floor mat is composed of a thick Dual Comfort Core System that features a patented gel and energy-return foam, which helps absorb shock, redistribute weight and ease the discomfort of standing for extended periods of time.
Additionally, its no-curl beveled edges help maintain shape and support throughout the life of the product.
A stain-resistant fabric and non-slip bottom surface help round out the deal.
