Fiberon introduces composite post-and-rail fencing
New London, N.C.-based Fiberon added a wooden rail fence to its line of outdoor composite products.
Fiberon’s new Post and Rail Fencing is available in a realistic Coastal Cedar color that is deeply embossed to create the appearance of wood. The easy-maintenance fencing profile includes horizontal rails in a 1.5-in. by 3.75-in. size and routed posts in a 3.5-in. by 3.5-in. size.
“Fiberon has recognized this fencing design growing in popularity, specifically among Homeowner Associations across the country,” said Edie Kello, director of marketing for Fiberon. “Our ability to incorporate Fiberon’s product innovation and technologies to this rustic-style fence provides a visual structure that genuinely looks like natural wood and offers extremely low maintenance for years to come.”
Supreme Court hears Wal-Mart case
The potentially massive workplace discrimination lawsuit brought by female employees against Wal-Mart Stores reached the Supreme Court yesterday, with early points scored for the defense, according to a CNN.com article.
The Supreme Court is hearing arguments and deciding whether the sex-discrimination case can proceed.
Wal-Mart is asking the U.S. Supreme Court to end the massive sex discrimination lawsuit, in which the women are claiming that the retailer favors men over women in pay and promotions.
The women suing Wal-Mart are pushing for class action because they say the retailer would have no reason to change its practices if they are forced to sue individually.
Thermador heats up marketing with bloggers
Huntington Beach, Calif.-based appliance brand Thermador rolled out a new-and-improved social media strategy that includes a well-known food blogger.
Jaden Hair of Steamy Kitchen will contribute recipes and posts for Thermador’s blog.
“We are extremely excited to welcome Jaden Hair to the Thermador brand family,” said Zach Elkin, director of the Thermador brand. “Jaden’s mantra of fresh and healthy cooking aligns beautifully with our message, especially with our increased presence in the steam-cooking arena. Additionally, Thermador’s partnership with Jaden further strengthens our relationship with the food-blogging community, which provides a direct link to the cooking enthusiasts we are so passionate about.”
Last year Thermador partnered with blogger Maria Lichty.
In its announcement regarding the blog, Thermodor said blogging is part of a 2011 marketing campaign that will focus on two steam-related products — its Steam & Convection Oven introduced in October, and a second innovation "set to launch this summer."
