Electrolux makes $50,000 contribution to N.C. families
Electrolux is helping out those in need in its Charlotte, North Carolina locale by way of $50,000 worth of donated appliances.
The first part of the delivery was made last Thursday to two recipients, both of whom are formerly homeless veterans who are now moving into their own apartments through a program with Builders of Hope.
“Our purpose is to make an everyday difference in people’s lives. We especially want to do this for the men and woman who have served our country,” said Nolan Pike, SVP and general manager, North America cooking products. “That’s why we continue to give back to the communities in which we live and work. One of the best ways to do that is to support the creation of affordable housing – something we’re hoping to do through the donation of these appliances in Charlotte.”
Local families and individuals will continue receiving the Frigidaire Gallery Smudge-Proof Stainless Steel appliances via the Crisis Assistance Ministry, which identifies those who need (but cannot afford) the essential appliances.
“We are incredibly grateful for the donation of these Frigidaire appliances and this three-way partnership that will help our community create more affordable housing options,” said Carol Hardison, CEO of Crisis Assistance Ministry. “How fitting that the first sets will help men and women who have served our nation as they regain stability and create a home of their own again.”
WOLF inks new deal with Capital Lumber
WOLF has cemented a new distribution partnership with Tacoma, Washington-based Capital Lumber, extending its reach to the West Coast for the first time.
Capital Lumber will distribute WOLF’s PVC Decking and Capped Composite Decking deckboards in Washington, Alaska and Hawaii.
“WOLF focuses on helping independent dealers separate themselves from the pack,” said Craig Danielson, CEO of WOLF. “Capital is the ideal partner because they share that focus. With the Capital agreement, WOLF Decking has become a coast-to-coast success story.”
Independent dealers in the Cascade Capital service area — centered around the Tacoma facility — will be able to avail themselves of the WOLF products starting in May.
“We are excited about our partnership with WOLF as it brings us an opportunity to present a brand new business model, along with a new product line, to the region,” said Michael Darby, VP marketing and business development. “WOLF will help our dealers differentiate themselves and give homeowners a unique choice in decking.”
WOLF will provide samples and literature to Capital’s dealers, as well as implement its WOLF PRO program in Capital’s service area.
Gorilla Glue mascot makes home field debut
Gorrilla Glue had an interesting way of attending the Cincinnati Reds game on May 24th.
A lifesize replica of Cincinnati Zoo’s Silverback Colossus gorilla galloped across home field at the Great American Ballpark after making some DIY repair demonstrations at the entrance of the clubhouse.
"The gorilla, who personifies the brand motto ‘For the Toughest Jobs on Planet Earth,’ is featured in national commercials, where he drops in on homeowners to help them with repairs, but this was his first major appearance before the general public," explained a company statement. "Quick-thinking fans snapped his photo as he gave his trademark grunt of approval for the Reds’ performance."
The lifelike mascot is an extension of Gorilla Glue’s recent rebranding, which involves the use of an animated gorilla in televised commercials (created by the same guy who brought us David Letterman’s bear suit and the Aflac duck).
