Dunn-Edwards adds ‘New Classics’ to signature palette

BY HBSDealer Staff

Dunn-Edwards has expanded its Then, Now and Forever paint palette of past and present paint color classics.

The 158 new hues takes the concept of "trending" paint colors one step further, cementing their role as enduring modern-day classics.

Dunn-Edwards selected the colors with the help of color expert Mark Woodman, who is the past president of the Color Marketing Group and sits on several international color forecasting panels. Together, they considered the past of color trends and the assistance of color software to create a digital analysis of the new classic colors.

"We knew that just putting out colors saying, 'Here's something new,' isn't enough…it doesn't resonate with consumers and with people who just really love color design," said Mark Woodman.

The new colors will be available in Dunn-Edwards' Perfect Palette display, color library, color album, fandeck and designer travel kit.

Dunn-Edwards is also launching various new digital tools, including InstaColor, a new mobile app, and ColorView, which allows users to paint rooms virtually. For professionals, color swatches will be available via Adobe Illustrator, REVIT and Sketch-Up.

Stanley pledges another $1 million to ToolBank USA

BY HBSDealer Staff

Stanley Black & Decker is renewing its commitment to ToolBank USA with a new $1 million contribution.

ToolBank USA is currently undergoing an expansion plan in various strategic markets, and Stanley Black & Decker's gift will help fuel its plans — it's the largest gift ToolBank has received to date.

"Where there are volunteers committed to bettering their community, we want to be there to provide the Stanley and DeWalt tools that they can rely on to get the job done," said Tim Perra, VP communications for Stanley Black & Decker. "Whether it's in one of the ToolBanks in major metropolitan areas across the U.S., or in a community impacted by a natural disaster, we are proud to continue our tradition of providing the best tools to those who are helping to strengthen their communities."

ToolBank USA provides resources to communities in need of tools to complete service projects, repairs and revitalizations. Charities, schools and faith-based organizations can use their local ToolBank to borrow necessary equipment for their projects.

The $1 million from Stanley Black & Decker will be fulfilled over three years, and it marks the company's second major contribution to ToolBank.

"The generous support from Stanley Black & Decker has empowered ToolBank USA's strategic focus on replication," said Dan Webber, board president of ToolBank USA and VP technology for UST Global. "Renewal of support will fuel our current efforts to establish enterprise-level infrastructure for the current ToolBank network, and fuel the many ToolBanks to come.  Our vision to 'end tool scarcity for America's volunteers' has made a quantum leap forward, thanks to our partnership with Stanley Black & Decker."
