DeAngelo describes new HD Supply brand strategy
Atlanta-based HD Supply launched a refreshed brand approach that is described as a simplified and unified approach to representing the industrial distributor’s business units and their areas of expertise.
The names of the company’s Facilities Maintenance, Waterworks and Power Solutions business units will remain unchanged. But HD Supply White Cap, Crown Bolt, Creative touch Interiors and Repair & Remodel have been rebranded as HD Supply Construction & Industrial, HD Supply Hardware Solutions, HD Supply Interior Solutions and HD Supply Home Improvement Solutions.
“We partnered with a third party to confirm with our customers that HD Supply is a well-recognized brand strongly associated with our knowledgeable and experienced associates that provide solutions to enable our customers’ success,” said Joe DeAngelo, CEO. “As we evolve, especially now as a more visible public company, we want to be widely recognized as one team that works hard every day to build and maintain our North American cities while supporting the careers and families of our associates and trade professionals.”

Marcone Canada hires president
Appliance parts distributor Marcone Canada hired Peter Szachlewicz as its first president.
Marcone Supply, the company’s U.S. counterpart, established a presence in Canada with its 2010 buyout of APWagner. Since that time, Marcone Canada has experienced growth in both its retail and wholesale operations, the company said, selling authorized OEM appliance parts, HVAC components and property maintenance supplies.
Szachlewicz comes to Vaughan, Ontario-based Marcone Canada with 15 years of sales and executive experience in the appliance business, serving as GM of Small Appliances at Electrolux Home Care Products and brand and product sales manager at the Whirlpool Corporation before that.
“Because of the quick expansion we’ve seen throughout North America and our plans to push further, it was time to bring in some expert talent at the highest level to guide Marcone Canada going forward,” said Dave Cook, SVP of Marcone Supply. “Peter has experience, commitment and deep roots to Canada and this industry — exactly what we were looking for in a president.”
“I’m excited about joining Marcone Canada and honored to be leading a great group of people,” said Szachlewicz. “We have an exciting opportunity to bring innovative services and solutions to the appliance business. I look forward to growing our business in Canada, and more importantly, to helping our customers grow as well.”
