Chick magnets at Coastal Farm and Ranch
The Pacific Northwest farm and ranch retailer Coastal Farm & Ranch is using chicks to entice customers this weekend.
The 15-location retailer plans to give away thousands (one report puts the number at 6,000) baby chicks at its stores to customers who buy 25 pounds or more of chick starter feed.
Chick and chick-related products are one of the clear growth areas for distributors and retailers, based on showings at recent hardware and farm and ranch-focused distributor shows.
About 500 chicks per store are expected to be distributed March 29, while supplies last.
