Cedar Creek completes buyout in Springfield, Mo.
Oklahoma City-based Cedar Creek announced the completion of the buyout of its financial partners at their Springfield, Mo., location.
Cedar Creek will now own that location outright.
D.Wayne Trousdale, Cedar Creek’s chief operating officer, said: “We are pleased to finalize this transaction as we continue to look for ways to grow our footprint across the U.S.”
Cedar Creek is a leading wholesale building material distribution company with 14 locations covering 20 states in the Mid-South, Midwest and Southeast. In May 2010, Cedar Creek was recapitalized by Boston-based Charlesbank Capital Partners, with the goal of providing flexible capital for the company to grow beyond its current trade areas.
Boardwalk town rebuilds with TimberTech
The ribbon-cutting ceremony on the Spring Lake, N.J., boardwalk included Spring Lake Mayor Jennifer Naughton at Pier Beach and council members holding signs saying: “Spring Lake: Stronger Than the Storm.”
Mayor Naughton thanked city workers for bringing the Hurricane Sandy-battered boardwalk back to the community ahead of schedule.
The Spring Lake boardwalk was rebuilt using TimberTech, a splinter-free, low-maintenance, composite decking.
“TimberTech’s Docksider product, specifically designed for docks and boardwalks installed quickly and easily, and the crew said they liked the new composite better than the previous composite material,” said Bryan W. Dempsey, borough administrator.
The boardwalk is a traditional favorite of joggers and, at two miles long and 18 ft. wide, is the longest non-commercial boardwalk in New Jersey.
ABC Supply opens in Bergenfield, N.J.
Beloit, Wis.-based ABC Supply Co. opened a new branch at 120 Woodbine St. in Bergenfield, N.J. It’s the building products distributors first in New Jersey’s Bergen County.
The new store will serve professional contractors and builders, initially offering a full assortment of steep-slope roofing, siding, and related tools and accessories. Windows will be added to the portfolio in the near future.
The branch is ABC Supply’s first in Bergen County, providing geographic coverage that will allow the company to serve an area of North Jersey that could not adequately be served by its other facilities in the market. Those branches are located in Avenel, N.J.; Clifton, N.J.; Plainfield, N.J.; Rahway, N.J.; Randolph, N.J.; Riverdale, N.J.; and Valley Cottage, N.Y.
“We’re excited to become part of the Bergenfield community and look forward to serving the contractors of Bergen County,” said branch manager Steve Kubicka. “They’re familiar with ABC Supply from our other North Jersey locations and know they can count on ABC to get them the products they need when and where they need them. With a location right in Bergenfield, we’ll be able to serve them much more efficiently and effectively.”
The branch opened with eight employees. The facility includes more than 50,000 sq. ft. of indoor and outdoor warehouse space. The showroom — called a Solution Center — is a premier destination for product information and selection for contractors and their clients.
Hours of operation are 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday year-round and 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday during the spring, summer and fall construction season.
