In Canada, Home Depot recalls LED light strings
The Home Depot Canada is voluntarily recalling all holiday LED light strings sold between Oct. 1 and Nov. 18 due to quality issues, the company announced Nov. 19.
“Quality and customer satisfaction are very important to The Home Depot Canada, and these products do not meet the company’s quality standards,” according to the company’s statement.
The company emphasized that the recall was voluntary, and at this time there are no known safety issues associated with the use of these products. Customers are being given full refunds on the products.
Automation comes to LEED green building program
The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), developers of the LEED green building program, has announced a new program designed to streamline and create capacity for the LEED building certification process. Called LEED Automation, the program enables users to submit documentation and certify LEED projects online through third-party technology platforms.
This marks the first time USGBC has opened LEED Online to the software application market and third-party software developers. It represents the initial step in what the USGBC said it expects will be the addition of many technology partners in the future.
