BPI establishes new millwork division
Waterloo, Iowa-based Building Products Inc. formed a new millwork division called FinishCraft.
The company describes FinishCraft’s as a provider of “high-quality millwork with an industry-leading color matching system, for both paint and stain.”
“One of the biggest advantages to our dealers and their contractors will be our brand new, state-of-the-art showroom,” said J.J. Robson, general manager. “This facility will provide end users the ability to visualize their products and choose the millwork items they want — in person."
The program includes guaranteed lead times, quick quote turnarounds and a multi-stage quality inspection process, according to BPI.
The new venture includes a millwork trailer that allows a millwork specialist to present ideas to contractors who can’t make it to the showroom. “All they need to do is give us a call and reserve a time,” said Robson.
Tamko adds roof measurement tool to its arsenal
Joplin, Mo.-based Tamko Building Products has teamed up with EagleView Technologies to offer a new aerial measurement tool to contractors enrolled in Tamko’s Pro Certified Contractor program.
Contractors will now be able to offer professional and customized roof measurement reports to their customers. These reports use 3-D modeling to create measurements, as well as easy-to-read diagrams and summary tables
“The EagleView reports will increase the accuracy of material ordering and increasing production planning on each project,“ said Stephen McNally, TAMKO VP sales and marketing. “This will give contractors a competitive advantage in a competitive marketplace.”
EagleView also offers an aerial measurement app for the iPhone, Android and iPad. With the EagleView app, contractors will have timely roof measurements with pitch, square footage, lineal footage and much more information on most houses from their mobile device or tablet.
The progressive app offers users the ability to easily place new orders for reports anytime, anywhere with a photo image from their mobile device or tablet, while also being able to receive completed report orders as soon as they are ready. Contractors can usually access report measurements from current and past projects while also checking the status of pending orders.
