Behr releases new mobile color matching application
Santa Ana, Calif.-based Behr Process Corp. unveiled its new ColorSmart by Behr Mobile application, offering consumers an on-the-go platform to find the perfect colors for home decorating projects.
The new color matching application offers the capability to decorate a room image digitally with touch-and-tap technology and preview color on walls, trim and accents.
“Behr.com provides a unique experience for do-it-yourselfers to become their own color expert,” said Joe Richardson, SVP Professional Products and Services for Behr. “We have now harnessed this ability and expertise on-the-go with the new ColorSmart by Behr Mobile application that makes every user design-savvy at anytime and from anywhere.”
Incorporating the color selection, coordination and preview features from ColorSmart online at behr.com, the company partnered with AppTight, an independent and leading developer of mobile applications, to create this unique tool.
The new application features include:
• Explore Color, which features a range of more than 2,000 colors;
• Photo Match, where the application will pull up the three closest matching paint colors from a saved photo; and
• Preview Colors, which allows users to access interior and exterior images in a variety of styles within the application to test their color choices by painting the walls, trims and accents. The application even features a way to save favorite colors and can provide driving directions to the nearest Home Depot.
The ColorSmart application was created specifically for the Apple iPhone mobile device and will also work with the iPad and iPod touch. In the coming year, Behr will be exploring other mobile platforms, such as the Android.
