Bath fan puts music into morning routine
As the house gets smarter and more connected, so too are ventilation bath fans.
Take for example, the latest entrance into the smarter home sweepstakes, the Home NetWerks Bluetooth Bath Fan.
Chicago-based Homewerks Worldwide, a fast growing global supplier of residential plumbing and HVAC products, is rolling out what it calls “the first-of-its-kind” Bluetooth-enabled ventilation bath fan.
“Homeowners are often looking for simple ways to make their morning routine and bathroom time more enjoyable,” says Peter Berkman, President of Homewerks Worldwide LLC. “Our new Bluetooth bath fan was designed to make connectivity and music streaming even more effortless.”
The product has a price point of about $159. It is available nationwide at The Home Depot, the company said.
The new Home NetWerks Bluetooth Bath Fan features two stereo speakers for rich quality sound, a bright LED light and a soothing blue LED night light.
Whistler recalls Jump&Go portable jumpstart
Whistler Group announced a recall of the Jump&Go portable jumpstart and power supply units, due to a fire hazard.
The jumpstart’s lithium battery can overheat and cause the units to melt, catch fire and ignite nearby items, posing a fire hazard to users.
Bentonville, Arkansas-based Whistler has received 45 reports of jumpstart and power supply units overheating and melting, including 18 reports of fire, resulting in approximately $16,000 in property damage. No injuries have been reported.
The pocket-sized jumpstart power supplies measure about 5.1 inches tall x 3 inches wide x 0.9 inches deep; and were sold in red, black, yellow and pink. They have detachable jumper cables; built-in high output LED flashlight with emergency flashing patterns; and a USB port to charge phones, tablets and cameras among other electronic devices.
The products were sold at Hammacher Schlemmer, Radio Shack, Walmart and other retail stores nationwide and online at Amazon.com, Sears.com and Staples.com from May 2014 to October 2014 for between $60 and $120.
The product was manufactured in China.
