AZEK partners with Dixie Plywood

AZEK Building Products, a maker of PVC-based decking and trim, has announced a distribution partnership with Dixie Plywood and Lumber Co. (known as Dixieply) of Atlanta. The agreement will offer the full AZEK product line to building material dealers, contractors and other end users throughout Georgia.

Dixieply, a privately owned wholesale distributor of plywood, lumber, building materials and specialty products, is based in Savannah, Ga. Dixieply already distributes AZEK products in Florida and Tennessee.

Headquartered in Scranton, Pa., AZEK manufactures trim, molding, decking, porch and railing products in three facilities: Scranton, Pa.; Foley, Ala.; and Toronto, Canada.

Automation comes to LEED green building program

The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), developers of the LEED green building program, has announced a new program designed to streamline and create capacity for the LEED building certification process. Called LEED Automation, the program enables users to submit documentation and certify LEED projects online through third-party technology platforms.

This marks the first time USGBC has opened LEED Online to the software application market and third-party software developers. It represents the initial step in what the USGBC said it expects will be the addition of many technology partners in the future.
