Another acquisition for UFPI
Just days after buying an interest in a Texas sawmill operator, Universal Forest Products has made another acquisition, this one in North Carolina.
UFPI announced that one of its subsidiaries has purchased assets of High Level Components, a building component manufacturer based in Locust, N.C. The deal closed March 31.
"As we have assessed opportunities for growth and a stable business climate, the greater Charlotte market has been an attractive target, and the capabilities, assets and opportunities presented by High Level Components provide a strong fit for our needs and objectives," said Universal Forest Products CEO Matthew J. Missad.
High Level will join Universal’s UFPI Mid-Atlantic subsidiary, which operates in South Carolina, Virginia, Georgia and North Carolina. High Level Components Plant Manager Corey Misenheimer will lead the new company as general manager of operations.
UFPI is based in Grand Rapids, Mich.
Central Garden & Pet acquires Envincio assets
Central Garden & Pet Company has purchased certain assets of Envincio LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of SantoLubes LLC.
The purchase includes established brands, EPA registration assets, inventory and trade receivables.
“This acquisition will enable Central to be a key supplier and product innovator in the growing natural insecticides product market, often characterized as EPA-exempt products, as well as expanding offerings in traditional pesticides,” said Frank Jusich, SVP Professional Brands.
Jusich added that the exclusive rights CG&P has acquired will help strengthen its footing in the professional pest control markets via Envincio’s patented essential oil blends.
NN hires exec for Plastic and Rubber Components Group
Johnson City, Tenn.-based NN, Inc., a supplier of high-precision metal bearing components, has appointed Evelise Faro to the role of VP and general manager of its Plastic and Rubber Components Group.
Effective immediately, Faro will report to president and CEO Rich Holder and will assume full responsibility for the execution of the Group’s strategic growth plan.

"She is joining NN at a very exciting time where we see many positive opportunities for the company to profitably grow. Faro has spent the majority of her career at Freudenberg – NOK, a producer of advanced sealing and vibration control products serving the automotive, aerospace, fluid power, oil & gas, medical/health care, chemical processing and semiconductor markets. Her most recent role there was Competence Center manager, leading the business unit through a global integration initiative. She also served as director, supply chain management and product development.
