AHMA leads group to Europe, again
For the 27th time, the American Hardware Manufacturers Association’s USA Pavilion will this year celebrate 27 years as an exhibitor at the International Hardware Fair Cologne in Cologne, Germany, scheduled to run from March 9 through March 12, 2014.
“AHMA is proud of its long history of helping U.S. manufacturers find international distribution for their products at the International Hardware Fair,” said Timothy Farrell, president and CEO of the AHMA. “We are confident this year’s AHMA / USA Pavilion at the 2014 International Hardware Fair Cologne will provide significant opportunities for our participating exhibitors to strengthen existing relationships and develop new relationships with trading partners around the world.”
Over the years, the AHMA / USA Pavilion has become a familiar destination for the world’s buyers interested in American companies and products, the group said. Once again this year, the pavilion, one of the show’s largest, will be centrally located where buyers have become accustomed to finding it in Hall 4.2.
AHMA is also continuing its tradition of hosting a reception during the show – to take place on March 11, at the historic Peters Brauhaus in old town (Altstadt/Nord) Cologne.
The reception is open to all AHMA / USA Pavilion participating exhibitors and their invited customers.
Handy Hardware gets busy in Houston
A new “Plumbing & Electrical Store” helped kick off Handy Hardware’s Spring Market this week in Houston.
The P&E store offered more than 1,000 ft. of planograms from key suppliers, and allowed dealers the opportunity to better understand new product and to refresh programs.
“We couldn’t be more excited about the first day of our Spring Market,” said Doug Miller, CEO of the Houston-based hardware distributor. “Dealer and vendor attendance was up, and the response we had to our Plumbing and Electrical Store planogram program was incredible.“
Handy’s Spring Market included nearly 500 booths of products from hundreds of suppliers. Even before the official opening, customers had two hours to take advantage of the special offers.
During the market, dealers and suppliers were able to visit with the Handy management team, and that of their parent company, Hardware Holdings.
“We are delighted with the response and support from our dealers and vendors for our Spring 2014 Market,” Devine said. “We are confident that our dealers will see the benefits of Handy Hardware’s Profit Plus initiative focused on helping our dealers profitably succeed with their customers. “
Miller said Handy received positive feedback from the dealers regarding the company’s fill rates, new rebate program and new Retail Pricing System.
