After decades, shoplifter finally pays

BY HBSDEALER Staff

The Accounts Receivable department of Central Contractors Supply in Johnstown, Pa., received $45 from a man who claimed he stole a hammer, 25 or 30 years ago, according to an article in the Tribune Democrat.

The cash arrived in the mail, stuffed in a plain white envelope, with a handwritten note that said:

“To Whom It May Concern,

Many years ago, 25-30?, I stole a hammer from this place of business. I knew it was wrong, but I did it anyway.

Enclosed is $45 to cover the hammer plus a little extra for interest.

I’m sorry I stole it but have changed my ways.

Hope God will forgive me for all the terrible things I have done in my life. This just being a small part.”

The note was unsigned.

Company president Lynne Gramling donated the money to the Salvation Army, according to the newspaper.

Engine Products Group sues EPA over E15

BY HBSDEALER Staff

A newly formed group comprised of automakers and engine manufacturers called the Engine Products group is suing the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency over its rule allowing the sale of E15 fuel, according to the ArgusLeader.com.

According to the article, the group is claiming the blend could damage the engines of boats, older cars and carbureted equipment such as chain saws. They also said it potentially opens manufacturers to liability lawsuits and that the waiver violates the Clean Air Act.

The Engine Products Group is a coalition of the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers, the Association of International Automobile Manufacturers, the National Marine Manufacturers Association and the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute.
