Actor Josh Duhamel and Valspar pitch in for Habitat for Humanity
Josh Duhamel, an actor best known for his role in ABC’s All My Children and the Transformers movie series, recently teamed up with Valspar Paint to launch Valspar Hands & Hearts for Habitat.
Valspar Hands & Hearts for Habitat will auction off celebrity handprints created with Valspar Paint and benefits Habitat for Humanity’s Disaster Response Program.
Autographed handprints have already been received from the likes of Duhmael, Kate Bosworth, Mischa Barton, Fergie Duhamel, Ethan Hawke, Heather Graham, Minka Kelly, Jenny McCarthy, Lea Michele, Bette Midler, Susan Sarandon, Naomi Watts and more.
"I am proud to partner with Valspar Paint and Habitat for Humanity for this important program which benefits a cause that is very near and dear to my heart," said Duhamel. "The rebuilding process is ongoing; I’ve seen it first-hand in my hometown of Minot, North Dakota with the destructive floods in 2011. Valspar will donate $1,000 to the fund for each set of handprints in addition to proceeds from the auction, with a minimum donation of $25,000.
Greg Brooks on board to speak at ProDealer Industry Summit
Greg Brooks is one of five speakers slated to speak at this year’s ProDealer Industry Summit, taking place Oct. 23-25 in Nashville, Tenn.
Brooks, a market analyst specializing in residential building material distribution in North America, is the editor of LBM Executive and the president of Building Supply Channel. He also serves on the Harvard University Joint Center for Housing Studies committee and is the author of the NLBMDA’s "Scope of the Lumber and Building Materials Industry," as well as a co-author of "The Next Decade in North American Building Product Distribution."
Brooks’ 45 years of experience in the construction supply business promises to inform his contribution to the event, which hosts LBM dealers, suppliers, wholesalers, distributors and manufacturers.
Andina acquires Tecnoglass and C.I. Energia Solar
Andina Acquisition Corporation jointly announced its merger with privately held Tecnoglass S.A. and C.I. Energia Solar S.A. E.S. Windows (both of which are sister companies collectively known as "Tecnoglass").
Colombia-based Tecnoglass will become a subisidiary of Andina, an asset acquisition company headquarterd in the Andean region of South America.
Tecnoglass is a vertically integrated manufacturer of architectural and industrial glass and windows, as well as aluminum products for residential and commercial construction. The company has over 300 customers in the Americas and exports nearly 43% of its products.
