Iowa-based prodealer Spahn & Rose shines the spotlight on employees who demonstrate dedication.

Lynn Lueken, an inside sales representative at the dealer’s Edgewood, Iowa location, and Dave Roche, accounting supervisor in the Spahn & Rose General Office in Dubuque, are the latest recipients of the company’s “Above and Beyond’ Award.

With 23 locations in Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin and Georgia, Spahn & Rose says “versatility and experience” are synonymous with Lueken’s efforts.

“Lynn is a stellar employee for Spahn & Rose,” says Edgewood General Manager Tony Ostwinkle. “She’s always willing to give her best to help customers with their needs. She has a positive attitude and is always there to help.”

When the Edgewood store was shorthanded this past autumn, Lueken worked extra hours, including just about every Saturday. In addition to accounting and recordkeeping, she also helps with counter sales.

“I just try to help each customer to the best of my ability,” Lueken says of her dedication to good service. “No matter how big or small their purchase, I feel you should give 110% to help them out.”

Roche enjoys finding clean solutions to nagging problems and he recently solved an issue with the company inventory. Because of software miscommunication, some figures weren’t adding up. Roche and a colleague began digging in search of an answer.

What Roche discovered fixed the problem, which will end up boosting stores’ bottom line, Spahn & Rose said.

“Dave has been on the S&R team for a little less than a year but has made a significant impact,” says Doug Stoll, Spahn & Rose controller. “He has worked diligently to resolve our inventory issues and always has a positive attitude.”

“Spahn & Rose is such a welcoming place,” Roche says. “It’s friendly and accepting—a great place to grow. We’re busting at the seams with growth, and daily interactions with coworkers are about helping the business grow.”

The Above & Beyond Award is given to employees of Spahn & Rose, Wisconsin’s Dunn Lumber and Georgia’s Metro Building Products and Still Lumber for outstanding customer service and significant contributions to their team. Lueken and other monthly winners of the award receive a $100 Visa gift card and are eligible to be named Employee of the Year, which includes a $1,000 award.
