Accsys Technologies, a London-based high-tech wood manufacturer, has chosen Snavely Forest Products as one of the U.S. distributors of its Accoya wood.

The wood—which is currently available in a handful of U.S. stores — goes through a process that prevents insect damage and fungus by replacing water-bonding molecules with more stable ones.

Wagner rolled out the Wagner SprayTech FLEXiO 890, an indoor/outdoor paint sprayer that takes some of the time and fatigue out of painting jobs.

The sprayer contains an X-Boost turbine in the base, which stays on the floor for a lighter, more portable user experience. It also provides tripe the power of traditional units, according to the company. This helps atomize paint for a smooth and even finish, regardless of the type of paint.

Nest Labs, the makers of the Nest Protect fire alarm and smoke detector, say the high-tech, home-of-the-future-type product could get confused, causing safety problems for homeowners.

The company, which was purchased by Google for $3.2 billion earlier this year, is suspending sales of the product until the problem is solved.

In a letter to customers, Nest explained that under the wrong conditions the alarm could interpret certain movements as the signal to stop emitting alarm sounds.

JollyHome has introduced a new line of temperature-sensitive LED faucets for the kitchen and bathroom in an effort to respond to the safety and design preferences of consumers.

"In this day and age, the growing populations of discerning consumers are not prepared to make a concession, as they would accept nothing other than a cocktail of high-tech, practicality and fun all together," said a company statement.

The LED faucets change color on a spectrum of blue to red to reflect the water's temperature setting.

Suncraft Solutions Inc. has teamed up with Stanley in the development of a new line of flat panel TV wall mounts that bring high-tech solutions to the DIY market and mark Stanley's entry into the home entertainment sector.

The lineup includes 10 unique models, launching in July, that will harness Stanley's brand recognition and make flat panel wall mounts more accessible to the average consumer.

Mooresville, N.C.-based Lowe’s will unveil the next wave of products and services for Iris, its cloud-based smart home solution, at the 2013 International Consumer Electronics Show. 

Iris enables homeowners to monitor and control their homes from anywhere via smartphone, tablet or computer with a free basic level of service. Lowe’s will showcase more than 15 new Iris devices and services developed since the smart home solution’s launch in 2012 at the show.
