Rayonier's director, Atlantic Region, U.S. Forest Resources Douglas Long has been promoted to the newly created position of VP U.S. operations, effective immediately.

In continuation of its personnel expansion for the new post-split company, Rayonier Advanced Materials has appointed Benson Woo to the title of CFO.

The move was precipitated by the recent split from Rayonier of its Performance Fibers businees, now known as Rayonier Advanced Materials.

Rayonier has tapped H. Edwin Kiker as its newest SVP and CFO, effective May 1, 2014. He is replacing Hans Vanden Noort, who has occupied the role since 2007 and is retiring on April 30.

Kiker has held various senior roles with the company over the past 12 years, including controller of its Real Estate business, VP internal audit and, most recently, VP investor relations.

His resume also includes audit roles with Great Lakes Chemical and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Weyerhaeuser has named John Enlow VP Southern Timberlands, effective Feb. 24.

Enlow is joining the company from Rayonier. In his most recent role, he served as director of the Atlantic and Northern Timberlands regions.

Jacksonville, Fla.-based forest products company Rayonier is going through a bit of a breakup. The company announced Monday that it is spinning off its fibers business from its forest resources and real estate business, forming two separate publicly traded companies.

“With an improving U.S. housing market, strong timber export markets, and the successful expansion of our cellulose specialties capacity, we concluded that now is the optimal time to pursue the separation of these two non-integrated businesses,” said chairman, president and CEO Paul Boynton.

Raynoier's board of directors has promoted Lynn Wilson to the post of EVP forest resources.

Wilson, who has over 20 years of experience in the forestry industry, currently oversees 2.6 million acres of timberland in nine U.S. states and New Zealand, as well as the administration of the company's Land Information Services and timberland acquisition team.

Prior to her role at Rayonier, she served as VP operations support at Plum Creek, where she had held several roles of increasing responsibility.
