It’s official: The House-Hasson Hardware acquisition of Moore-Handley is in the books.

The final asset disposition remaining from the 2009 deal that brought the former hardware distributor Moore-Handley into the House-Hasson fold has been completed.

Natchez, Miss.-based Central Network Retail Group acquired Moore’s Hardware in Dahlonega, Ga.

The 11,500-sq.-ft. store at 550 Grove Street N in Dahlonega also has a warehouse and lumberyard. Moore’s features a broad assortment of lumber, building materials, millwork, hardware, paint, electrical, and plumbing products. Lamar Ricketts, Moore’s former owner and manager, has agreed to stay and consult with CNRG.

In a letter to members, Handy Hardware Wholesale said it is not going out of business, but it asked members to show support for Handy during its reorganization and to be patient during the process.     

On Friday afternoon, Handy announced it filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in hopes of reorganizing and re-emerging by early summer 2013.

The National Association of Home Builders’ (NAHB) Remodeling Market Index (RMI) decreased one point to 47 from the upwardly revised 48 in the previous quarter.

In the first quarter, the RMI component measuring current market conditions dropped one point to 49, while the component measuring future indicators of remodeling business fell two points to 44.
