US LBM Holdings acquired K-I Lumber & Building Materials of Louisville, Kentucky, bringing  the US LBM footprint to 90 locations across 14 states.

The move pushes the number of US LBM divisions 15, and brings into the fold a territory with which US LBM CEO L.T. Gibson is familiar – Kentucky and Southern Indiana.

Just shy of its 100th anniversary, Harrodsburg, Ky.-based Coleman's Lumber and Home Center has closed its doors.

VP Cala Coleman confirmed to Home Channel News that the single-unit home center near Lexington, Ky. is going out of business.

According to the company's website, the business started as a flour mill in 1912. Owner Jack Coleman Jr. is the great grandson of company founder Clell Coleman, according to the website.

Thanks, in part, to an expansion of a Jif peanut butter plant, Congleton Lumber is relocating into a new facility with a larger showroom in Lexington, Ky. John Congleton, who owns the fourth-generation lumberyard with his sister, told Home Channel News that when his next door neighbor, Jiff Peanut Butter, wanted to expand, “the offer was too good to refuse.”
