Installed Building Products, a major insulation installer based in Columbus, Ohio, is expanding its Midwestern presence through the acquisition of Installed Building Solutions, LLC ("IBS").

Farmington, Minnesota-based IBS is an installer of fiberglass insulation, spray foam insulation and waterproofing products that serves burgeoning markets throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin and North Dakota.

Indianapolis-based appliance retailer hhgreg opened a remodeled location in Columbus, Ohio’s Sawmill Shopping Center. The store reopened to the public on Thursday, Sept. 18.

The store is the chain’s sixth Columbus-area location.

PulteGroup, Inc. has acquired the real estate assets of Dublin, Ohio-based Dominion Homes, a homebuilder with a significant presence in the Ohio and Kentucky markets.

The deal involves an initial acquisition of about 6,500 lots, with 1,600 additional lots slated for purchase within the next 45 days upon completion of additional due diligence. These lots are spread throughout 27 open communities in Columbus, 11 in Louisville and three in Lexington. The specific financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Caledonia, Wisconsin-based CalStar Products has made its first expansion to a new manufacturing facility, located in Columbus, Mississippi.

The new 100,000-sq.-ft. facility expands CalStar's geographic footprint from its existing facility in Racine, Wisconsin, located in the Golden Triangle Industrial Park near the Alabama border. The location also provides proximity to areas where brick and masonry are in-demand for residential and commercial facades, as well as raw materials for lighter color options.

As part of Pelotonia 2013 in Columbus, Ohio, Team Simonton raised almost $15,000 this month for cancer research at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center. And, in May, associates at Simonton facilities in West Virginia raised $41,000 for the American Cancer Society during the 12th Annual "Relay for Life" Charity Auction.

Wilfred "Bubber" Gross Jr., CEO of W.T. Harvey Lumber Co. in Columbus, Ga., passed away on Jan. 25 from cancer. He was 83 years old.

Gross joined the 149-year-old business after serving in the U.S. Air Force as a Lieutenant, according to his obituary. He was named CEO in 1953.

According to an article in The Republic of Columbus, Ind., a man convicted of burglary and theft of a hardware store received a sentence of 17 years in prison.

Robert Owen Luetke, 44, was found guilty of the felonies in a case that involved the theft of copper wire and tubing from Country Bins hardware store in Columbus, Ind. Luetke, who was found to be a habitual offender, was also ordered to pay the hardware store $450.

A Mount Vernon, Ohio, location of 84 Lumber -- one of six in the state -- closed its doors Monday morning, the Mount Vernon News reported.

Mount Vernon is about 50 miles northeast of Columbus in central Ohio. The store is located on 665 Harcourt Rd. in Mount Vernon.
