Kohler and Benjamin Moore are sharing ideas on color and design, packaged in a 32-page catalog. 

In a program called “Collaboration in Full Color,” Kohler Co. and Benjamin Moore offer ideas for balancing “outstanding style with intriguing pieces and sensible function,” according to the joint announcement.

The two companies built the program around three lifestyles: Natural State, Soft Focus and Desert Departure. The styles showcase California style, the glamour of the 1920s, and mid-century modern elements, among other things.

Benjamin Moore's Natura, Ultra Spec 500 and zero-VOC waterborne colorants have earned the supplier a Silver-level certification from MBDC's Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute.

This marks the first premium paint manufacturer to earn the designation from MBDC. It also means the products qualify for credit under LEED v4.

Cradle to Cradle was part of an effort to encourage the development of products that influence the environment for the better -- not just avoid harming it further.

Benjamin Moore is expanding its line of Regal Select Exterior paint with a new product made to adhere better to vinyl siding.

Customers in the Northeast and Midwest, as well as New Englanders will be able to buy the company’s new Revive paint, which contains Vinyl-Lock technology, which prevents peeling and fading once the paint has been applied.

The new product comes after the company conducted a study that found that respondents considering painting vinyl siding would prefer a product made specifically for that purpose.

Registered as color number 806, 'Breath of Fresh Air' was chosen for its harmonious, versatile qualities, according to creative director Ellen O'Neill.

NEW ORLEANS — The recent marriage of Valspar and Ace Hardware Corp. was by far the most colorful product story at Ace's Spring Convention and Exhibits held here.

Not only were dealers eager to see Ace's paint department vision of the future, they were hungry for details on the incentives in place to retrofit their stores.

One retailer suggested that the Valspar topic boosted attendance at the show. Others on the floor ran the gamut from dealers who embrace the change enthusiastically, to those who want to stay with their existing brands, notably Benjamin Moore.

Ace Hardware Corp.’s paint program is going through a major makeover with Valspar stepping up as a supplier and taking over the co-op’s paint manufacturing facilities. 

Ace and Valspar announced a long-term deal, under which Valspar will manufacture and supply Ace-branded paint products to Ace dealers. The companies also announced that Valspar has acquired Ace Hardware’s paint manufacturing assets, including two manufacturing facilities located near Chicago.
