From the 1989 issue of National Home Center News: a wall of televisions.

The Aug. 14, 1989 issue of National Home Center News, the forerunner of HBSDealer, featured an in-depth look at a new prototype for Wilkesboro, N.C.-based Lowe's. (The company's headquarters has since moved to Mooresville, N.C.)

Perhaps surprisingly, one area that was receiving attention was the company's "wall of television sets."

The caption for the above photo reads:

“The placing of the wall of television sets traditionally located toward the front of Lowe’s units for its eye-grabbing appeal, needs to be readjusted in the new Lowe’s unit, according to Wendell Emerine, Lowe’s executive VP of sales and store operations."
