Stock Building Supply, which announced it was closing 86 locations last week, will shutter three stores in the Minnesota area, according to a report in the Post Bulletin. The units in Baxter, Montrose and Cedar will all close, the newspaper reported. A Stock location in Rochester, Minn., will remain open, it said.
The Journal-Times, a newspaper that covers Racine, Wis., reported that the Stock location in nearby Sturtevant will close this week. The store was part of Wolohan Lumber before Stock purchased it in 1999.
Aspokeswoman for Wolseley North America, Stock’s parent company, said she would have no comment on closures beyond Stock’s initial list of 15 locations in 6 states. Stock is characterizing these are cities as market exits, although the Raleigh, N.C., company intends to continue serving several of them from other Stock facilities.
