George J. Deines, general manager of AB Ace Hardware of Mesa, Ariz., realized a lifelong dream recently when he got the chance to race a real NASCAR car at Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama -- courtesy of Fluidmaster.
Deines had entered a drawing at the Fluidmaster booth during the Ace Hardware spring market in Dallas earlier this year. Fluidmaster, a San Juan Capistrano, Calif.-based company, is a leading manufacturer of toilet repair parts.
Deines, an avid NASCAR fan, also received an all-expense-paid trip to attend a four-hour Mario Andretti/Jeff Gordon instructional racing school session to obtain his racing license in order to be allowed to drive the 40 laps around Talladega.
“I was floored when I had heard I won this prize, and after sharing the good news with my wife, we both knew it would be the ultimate trip for me and my son to experience together,” Deines said.
