Sears Holdings has opened a new direct delivery center in Gouldsboro, Pa.
The 1 million-square-foot facility will serve as a supply chain hub for refrigerators, ranges, washers and dryers, tractors and other large ticket items.
The new location will serve around 300 Sears and Kmart stores in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina, according to the company.
"This facility will allow Sears to expand our appliance distribution capabilities and moves us closer to our goal of becoming more effective and efficient," said Jim Mixon, senior vp-supply chain and logistics for Sears Holdings.
The center is expected to employ approximately 167 associates.
