Towson, Md.-based DeWalt announced the launch of a new full line of carbide bits used for drilling holes in hard concrete, reinforced concrete, block and pan decking.
The new Solid Rock Carbide SDS Plus Bits are designed for mechanical and general contractors, electricians, forming and tilt wall contractors, glaziers and other professionals.
The bits are manufactured using an innovative bonding system to affix the solid rock carbide tip to the flute, and the head of the bit features two times more carbide than traditional bits to endure daily job site abuse.
“We spent countless hours talking to end users about their frustrations with SDS Plus Bits, and inadequate bit life and lack of durability were the top concerns,” said Maurice LaPointe, product manager, DeWalt. “We addressed those concerns with the launch of our Solid Rock Carbide product, which further proves our commitment to providing contractors with long-lasting accessories that can stand up to the tough applications.”
The four-flute bit design strengthens the product to help reduce breakage when drilling into concrete. Additionally, the separate channels created by the four-flute design are optimal for debris removal and provide fast drilling speed.
