The HCN Helping Veterans Crusade

The HCN Helping Veterans Crusade is more than just a logo. This editorial crusade marks the beginning of a commitment to getting the word out about organizations and programs that help veterans. We’ll be covering these organizations in the months ahead and keeping track of the many ways the industry can help.

Are you aware of an organization dedicated to the housing needs of veterans? Let us know here.

Helping A Hero
Helping A Hero is a non-profit, non-partisan organization that enables all Americans to say, "Thank you for your service," to our wounded heroes in a tangible way. It builds specially adapted homes for severely injured military personnel and their families, and adapts these homes for the specific injuries and challenges of our wounded heroes.

Homes for Our Troops
This organization is a national non-profit organization founded in 2004 who is strongly committed to helping those who have selflessly given to our country and have returned home with serious disabilities and injuries since Sept. 11, 2001.

Operation Finally Home
Its mission is providing custom-made, mortgage-free homes to wounded and disabled veterans and the widows of the fallen in order to help them with the major transitions they face in their lives.

Veterans Airlift Command
The VAC provides free air transportation to post-9/11 combat wounded and their families for medical and other compassionate purposes through a national network of volunteer aircraft owners and pilots.

Yellow Ribbon Fund
The Yellow Ribbon Fund helps bridge the gaps while injured service members are recovering in the Washington, DC, area at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and Fort Belvoir Community Hospital.
