The Estwing cake highlights the firm’s 100th anniversary party.

Estwing took its ongoing 100-year anniversary celebration indoors recently, hosting a formal bash to celebrate a century of achievements for this hand tool maker.

“Attended by the board of directors, company executives and members of the 25-year club, this food- and fun-filled gala included tool-themed table settings and an impressive Estwing cake that looked too good to eat,” said the company.

Ernest Otto Estwing was born in Öland, Sweden, in 1885, emigrated to the U.S. at age 16, was a self-taught engineer, and established his company in Rockford, Illinois, in 1923 – with a goal “to build the finest hand tools,” write the company on its website.

At the party, presentations were given by Mark Youngren, CEO and chairman of the board, and Steve Flosi, executive vice president, who welcomed the new 25-Year Club members.

The firm said that all attendees received a book published by Estwing, marking the company’s impressive history, and a custom leather-wrapped 100-year hammer.

“Even though we’re all here to celebrate a monumental 100-year anniversary, we know that we are just getting started,” said Stephanie Fisher, VP of sales and marketing.
