Stanley offers a twist on color-coding

Stanley's color-coded screwdrivers.

Stanley introduced its new line of basic screwdrivers during a new product luncheon at the Westin Times Square in New York City. The new line of color-coded screwdrivers allows DIYers or pros to easily choose the right tool from their pouch or tool box.

“The introduction of new basic screwdrivers represents Stanley’s continued commitment to innovation and extensive field research coming from our customers,” said Bob Scillia, leader of Stanley’s strategic business unit for cutting and clamping products. “Our new screwdrivers provide professionals and homeowners an innovative and comfortable tool for day-to-day driving applications that is easy to locate among other tools.”

A four-sided handle is designed for comfort with a slip-resistant textured grip. Parts of the handles are color-coded red for slotted, blue for Phillips and green for Torx. Twelve single screwdrivers will retail for $2 to $3, and seven screwdriver sets will retail for $3 to $22.
