After nine decades of doing business in Oklahoma City, M-D Building Products has decided to expand its operations there with a new 80,000-sq.-ft. warehouse and distribution center at the site of its current headquarters. The company broke ground on the new facility on Oct. 9 and expects construction to be completed in six months and cost $4 million.
The privately held M-D Building Products currently operates a 450,000-sq.-ft. manufacturing and distribution facility in Oklahoma City, employing more than 450 people.
Founded in 1920 as Macklanburg-Duncan, the company develops, manufactures and markets a range of residential and commercial weatherproofing products, including door and window weather-stripping, garage door weather-stripping, pipe insulation and a complete line of interior and exterior caulking products.
The company's new "Weatherizing for Dummies" kit was recently featured on NBC's Today Show. It is available nationwide at Lowe's and other independent hardware retailers.
