City of Hope’s 2016 Spirit of Life event will honor Bob Tellier and Orchard Supply Hardware for their philanthropic efforts in support of the California-based charity.
The event will take place in Las Vegas Jan. 18 at Mandalay Bay on the eve of the International Builders’ Show. It will bring together hardware and home-building industry supporters of the treatment and research facility dedicated to finding cures and new treatments for cancer, diabetes and other life-threatening diseases.
The 2016 honoree Tellier, president of San Jose, California-based Orchard Supply, will be recognized for his individual philanthropic efforts, sharing the stage with the philanthropic legacy of the retailer -- Orchard Supply has raised more than $7.5 million for City of Hope through 13 events held over the past 16 years.
Tellier assumed the role of president of Orchard Supply in February 2015. His extensive hardware industry background also includes roles with True Value Company and 14 years of progressive management roles in finance and operations in consumer product manufacturing.
Since it was founded in 1982, City of Hope’s Hardware/Homebuilding Industry has raised more than $150 million for lifesaving research, treatment and education programs. The group has grown to encompass a nationwide network of high-profile manufacturers, retailers, distributors, manufacturers' representatives and related members.
